Kendo training is never easy. We endure demanding practice, face our limits again and again, and still continue to take up the shinai.

Perhaps that is why those who have devoted themselves seriously to Kendo can understand one another beyond nationality, language, and culture.

交剣知愛

Ko Ken Chi Ai coming to know and respect one another through crossing swords

Winning is not the only purpose of this tournament. When we face each other with complete sincerity and give everything in a match, something special can happen. After the final bow, respect remains. New friendships are born, and bonds can grow beyond borders.

In 2026, as Tunisia and Japan celebrate the important milestone of 70 years of friendship, Kendo practitioners from around the world will gather in Miyazaki, Japan, to cross swords together.

And beyond this tournament lies another important goal — the 2027 World Kendo Championships.

Come to test what you have built through years of training. Come to meet new friends and new rivals. Come to challenge yourself as you move toward the future.

To Kendo practitioners around the world: come and compete with us in Miyazaki! Because we take Kendo seriously, genuine friendship can be born.

  • Cross swords.
  • Discover one another.
  • Respect one another.

Experience the true spirit of “Ko Ken Chi Ai” in Miyazaki.
